Apostille turnaround dashboard

Apostille timing depends on the route.

This dashboard separates Notary Geek handled-route expectations from official state and federal queues, runner routes, rush-only lanes, certified-copy steps, notary-first documents, and shipping reality.

Public timing data

Handled-route expectations by state.

These are Notary Geek operating expectations for eligible handled routes. They are not legal advice and not blanket state guarantees. The document source and destination-country requirements still control the route.

State Turnaround Handling signal Route notes Source
Federal handled federal runner route Source notes Usually 11-14 days for eligible federal authentication requests handled through Notary Geek's in-person runner route. Human runner route plus shipping both directions Notary Geek uses an in-person runner for federal documents, but federal government processing currently takes a solid 10 business days. The 11-14 day practical estimate allows for shipping in both directions plus federal processing. Notary Geek does not currently make daily federal document runs, so timing depends on runner scheduling, document availability, shipping, and federal intake requirements. Official source
Florida handled Florida online-notary apostille workflow plus slower mail/FedEx-in queue Source notes Usually about three business days for eligible Florida online-notarized documents handled by Notary Geek after the document is accepted and signer steps are complete. Human support when the document fits Mail or FedEx-in follows the official queue and can be slower. Wet-ink or physical-original work usually adds about one working day before Florida submission. If a customer truly needs faster, support can discuss whether an e-apostille option is appropriate. Official source
California handled California in-person route Source notes Usually 1-2 business days for eligible handled requests because Notary Geek uses the in-person California handling method when the document must go through California. In-person human handling This is a Notary Geek handled-route expectation based on live-person/in-person California handling, not a blanket California Secretary of State guarantee. County, court, school, or document-defect steps can change the timing. Official source
Ohio handled Ohio state route Source notes Ohio state processing is currently about 1 business day; practical Notary Geek round-trip turnaround is usually about 3 days. Tracked carrier both directions The 1-day state processing note is an operating timing signal, not a guarantee. Total timing still depends on document source, courier movement, certified-copy or county/court/school prerequisites, notary defects, and whether the original must move physically. Official source
New York handled New York route Source notes Usually 1-2 business days for eligible handled company-record requests when Notary Geek can obtain the New York company record online and the route is clean. Human support for eligible routes New York is an active Notary Geek lane, but the fast New York timing should not be applied to every New York document. Vital records and other physical originals or certified copies may need to be shipped to Notary Geek first before the apostille handling clock starts. New York notarized documents and many local records can require county-clerk authentication before the New York Department of State apostille. NYC vital records, NYS vital records, divorce decrees, company records, and notarized private documents should be routed separately. Official source
Wyoming handled Wyoming state route Source notes Usually around 4 days or less. Prepaid/direct state request route Wyoming timing can vary with the state queue or when the person processing state requests is out of the office. Company, address, mailbox, and signer-created-document questions often sit beside the apostille request. Official source
Delaware rush-only handled Delaware lane Source notes Usually around three days in the common 24-hour rush lane after route and document availability are confirmed. Prepaid/direct rush request route Notary Geek generally orders Delaware apostilles and certified Delaware documents only when the Delaware 24-hour rush tier or higher service level is being used. Official source
New Mexico semi-manual state route Source notes Usually about a week. Tracked carrier semi-manual route New Mexico is more semi-manual than some faster routes. Timing can change with state handling, mail/courier movement, document defects, and notary or certified-copy prerequisites. Official source

Handling model

Ask how the apostille is actually retrieved.

For provider comparisons, DHL shipping is only one signal. The handling model also includes prepaid or direct state accounts, human runner or retrieval support, state rush tier, scan-back, and who owns the FedEx or DHL label.

Current Notary Geek signals

Human runner or retrieval support is available for Florida, California, Texas, New York, and New Jersey when the route fits. Wyoming and Delaware have prepaid/direct state-request style handling when the document and lane fit. Most other physical state routes use FedEx or another tracked carrier both directions.

How to read this

Fast timing only applies after the route is clean.

Apostille timing is not one clock. A request may include certified-copy retrieval, online notarization, county authentication, state apostille handling, courier pickup, scan-back, DHL delivery, or correction time. This page publishes the operating timing signal, then pushes the actual order through route confirmation.
