Identity document check
Register your identity document with Notary Geek.
There is no charge to complete identity-document registration before scheduling. Have the actual government-issued identity document you intend to use in hand. If you are a foreign national outside the U.S. using a passport, have the actual unexpired passport, not only a photo or scan. Mobile devices work best because camera access is usually required.
Secure identity check
Preparing identity document check.
Your identity document can be registered before you upload a document, but this step must be completed before scheduling or attending a notary session.
This page checks your device type before opening the identity-document check. If camera access or loading gets stuck, try a different device or browser and return to this same page.
Identity verification data, Persona reference IDs, and related verification events may be stored in private backend systems for notary workflow, audit, fraud prevention, support, and future request matching. Read the Privacy Policy.

Mobile device needed
Use your phone for the identity document check.
For security and camera access, the identity-document check works best from a mobile browser. If using a passport, have the actual unexpired passport in hand.
Scan the code with your phone to continue. If camera access fails, allow camera permissions, turn off private browsing, and try one refresh. If it still fails, try a different browser family: Firefox versus Chrome/Safari, or Chrome/Edge/Brave/Opera versus Firefox/Safari. If you need help, message us with your device and browser.
What happens next
After validation, book only when ready.
When identity-document registration completes successfully, you can book a notary session, upload a document, or return later. You do not pay to register your identity document. Notary session charges apply after the completed video session.
Proof you can check
Use official records and public profiles to verify the workflow before sending documents. Online notarization usually uses Florida online notaries. State-issued records stay with the office or state that issued them. Signers outside the U.S. can use a non-U.S. passport and do not need a Social Security Number.
